Its your fault if you dont visit Genoa (Italian: Genova) during his holiday on the Italian Riviera. You wont see one of the most charming cities in Europe. 650 000 people live up the hill slopes, the higher districts can be reached via elevators and stairways. To the harbor stretches out the famous old town, a unique labyrinth. The streets are so narrow that you must lift your head to the facade of a church or a magnificent palace.

Commenda San Giovanni di Pre

Train
By train you can either go via Switzerland to the Gotthard-Milan route from Milan and Genoa or Munich-Verona and Brescia and from there to Genoa. Trains are leaving from Genoa to the west and east direction along the Ligurian coast during the day almost every hour and make the railway an ideal and inexpensive way to explore the coastal area of the Riviera.
