The lithuanian spa and resort (20 000 pop.) was known throughout the Soviet Union. Even today, many Russians and Latvians travel in the summer to Palanga, more recently, more and more Germans. In July and August are in the numerous hotels, discos and bars very busy. Palangas life line is the axis Basanavičiaus Gatve, a street whose seaside ends to the center of the long sandy beach, where a 600 m long pier goes out into the sea.
