ROME

Via Appia Antica

Train
Most passenger trains arrive in the Stazione Termini.

Plane
Rome has two airports. The international airport Leonardo da Vinci situated 32 km outside of Rome in Fiumicino. Many cheapairlines arrive in the 18 km south of Rome situated airport Ciampino. Leonardo da Vinci: A taxi ride to downtown costs, including airport surcharge 40-50 Euro. Cheaper and faster is the airporttrain which leaves every half hour (both 7 and 37 minutes past an hour) to the Stazione Termini (9.50 Euro, tickets at vending machines in front of the platform). Ciampino: A taxi into the city center will cost around 35 Euro. Some cheap airlines offer a bus service to Stazione Termini for 8 Euro.

Public Transport
The BIT (biglietto integrato a tempo), a combinated bus and train ticket costs 1 Euro. ), a dayticket 4 Euro, the 3-day-ticket 11 Euro. Rome has only two Metrolines. Linea A: Battistini to Anagnina and Linea B: Rebibbia to EUR-Laurentina. Both run Sun-Fri 5.30am-11.30pm, Sat 5.30am-12.30am.
