Bad Hofgastein
7 km north of the road, this lively resort (6750 pop.) refers to the rural character and gets its mineral water from Bad Gastein. The new Alpentherme (Sat-Wed 9am-9pm, Thu and Fri 9am-10pm, 4-hrs-entrance 17,50 Euro) offers a wellness landscapes on more than 30 000 square meters. In the Gadaunererschlucht shows the nature its dramatic side.

Krimml
The resort (880 pop., 26 km southwest) was isolated for centuries at the end of the Salzach river valley. Since 1962 combines the Gerlos Pass Road Krimml with the Zillertal in Tirol.
